Dr. Smith completed undergraduate studies at Western Maryland College. He attended the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class.
Dr. Smith performed residency training at the Maryland Podiatric Residency Program in Baltimore, Maryland. During his residency in Baltimore, Dr. Smith spent time at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, Maryland General Hospital, Bon Secours Hospital, Greater Baltimore Medical Center Wound Care Center, and St. Agnes Surgery Center.
Dr. Smith is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, is a Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, is a Member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, and is a Member of the Maryland and Virginia Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Klein moved to Maryland after completing his surgical residency in 2000. As a surgical resident at Southwestern General Hospital, Dr. Klein had the opportunity to work with many surgeons and in many specialties including General Surgery, Arch Pain Foot, Achilles Tendonitis, Orthopedic Surgery and Plastic Surgery. Dr. Klein worked closely with physicians at the El Paso Veterans Administration Hospital. Dr. Klein spent a year at the West Palm Beach FL Veterans Administration Hospital as well.
Dr. Klein became interested in medicine at an early age. Throughout his life Dr. Klein has participated in many organizations related to health care. Dr. Klein volunteered at local hospitals and worked with several physicians before attending college.
Dr. Klein is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, is a Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and is a Member of the Maryland and Virginia Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Klein is a board certified member of the American Board of Surgical First Assistants.
Dr. Klein holds a bachelors degree in Microbiology and a minor degree in Chemistry from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge Louisiana. Dr. Klein completed his medical degree at the Dr. William Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago.
